Inspired by Ipswich-based project WASSUP, We Are Patrick is a youth social action programme delivered by young men in Ipswich.

The key aims of the project are to:

  • Educate peers on the issues of sexual exploitation, domestic abuse, honour based violence and gang grooming
  • Lobby for changes to social policy and practice on these issues promoting young people’s voice
  • Raise awareness in the wider community on these issues

We are Astra Toolkit

The young men who have taken part in We Are Patrick have designed a toolkit, which male volunteers use in 90 minute sessions in schools across Suffolk. The toolkit presents a series of difficult scenarios based on the life of fictional character Patrick.The toolkit uses film, spoken verse, imagery and flashcards created by volunteers to journey young people though decision-making scenarios based on fictional characters.

We’re looking for volunteers aged 18-24 who want to make a positive difference in Suffolk. Develop new skills and gain a qualification, help your peers realise their potential, build confidence, improve their wellbeing and overcome the issues that affect them.
