As well as in English below, an introduction to the Journey Makers Project is also available in the following languages – Arabic, Persian, Polish, Romanian:
Journey Makers was a project funded by the Department for Transport (DfT) which commissioned Volunteering Matters to co-ordinate a nationwide volunteer support programme to assist travellers at transport hubs. Journey Makers assisted travellers, providing guidance, advice and supporting them to help keep people at participating transport hubs safe.
On behalf of the Voluntary and Community Sector Emergencies Partnership, Volunteering Matters coordinated this scheme. There are over a million experienced volunteers in the UK who want to give their time and energy to support others. We believe that these volunteers with their skills, energy and commitment, are going to be key in keeping people safe as we come out of Covid.
