Our Youth Social Action team have created online Super Heroes to accompany our family packs and support children through this challenging time. Astra, Patrick and friends are Super Heroes with a difference. We believe that all children harness their own super powers, such as resilience and bravery. In order for people in Suffolk to volunteer safely we have created easy-to-use community Safeguarding Guides – which can be downloaded and used to support in identifying safeguarding issues.

Safeguarding InfoTo view and download the guide, click here or on the picture above. You can also browse our national tips and advice at volunteeringmatters.org.uk/volunteer-safely.

Safeguarding TrainingIn collaboration with Suffolk Safeguarding Partnerships, we’re hosting webinars to strengthen entry-level safeguarding skills for volunteers and the broader Suffolk community.

In addition we are running a telephone Hotline for Ipswich’s community volunteers and families. This is available Monday to Saturday, 9.30 am to 5pm and is coordinated by our wonderful Volunteer Safeguarding Champions.

At Volunteering Matters we’re committed to good practice and keeping volunteers and our community safe by protecting the most vulnerable and at risk individuals. All information is COVID-19 support specific and does not replace your local safeguarding policies and practice which can be found at www.suffolksp.org.uk
