We are looking for an over-50’s volunteer, resident in the RSVP West area, who would like to help the Regional Coordinator with fundraising.

Although part of the national charity Volunteering Matters, RSVP West is totally financially independent; its annual expenditure varies from £12 to 16,000 per year – we are volunteer-led and have no salaried staff.

Local registered charity (CIO) ‘Friends of RSVP West Region’ is the fundraising vehicle to support the activities of the RSVP West region’s members.

In recent years the proportion of funds that have come from the four unitary authorities has become a trickle and we are now dependent on identifying voluntary sector Trusts and Foundations and the private sector.  Experience has demonstrated that when our many services are clearly understood, organisations are often happy to make donations.

Volunteer requirements

  • To be aged 50 or above
  • Experience of fundraising would be helpful but is not essential – the most needed skills are enthusiasm for RSVP’s mission and the ability to identify new sources of funding.
